Wilderness First Aid
The minimum requirement for SAR responders and outdoor employees. Perfect for hikers, climbers, hunters, and all other other adventurers.
Wilderness First Responder
The preferred certification for SAR responders and outdoor professionals such as guides, park rangers, and trip or field leaders. Or anyone who participates in higher risk activities in remote areas far from help.

Wilderness CPR and Austere BLS
Through partnership with the American Red Cross, we have designed speciality CPR and Basic Life Support courses that go beyond the city setting. Austere BLS is recommended for all SAR responders.
*WFR recertification requires submitting your prior certification for verification. We accept certifications from other organizations, including NOLS, SOLO, WMA, RMT, etc. The grace period for WFR is 1 year.
How Training Is Delivered
Complete Online Lessons
Take the online lessons at your own pace before attending hands-on training. For those in the SAR wilderness medicine course, the online curriculum is entirely tailored to SAR.
Hands-on Practical Training
Depending on the course you sign up for, the hands-on practical part of the training is delivered either in-person or remotely via Zoom and includes scenarios and skill practice.
Certification
Take the online exam to receive your certification. Certifications are valid for two years. Our WM subscription makes it easy to maintain certification and skills year after year.
