Need to recertify but can’t find dates that work for you?
Recertify 100% Online
You will be required to complete the online wilderness medicine lessons and then pass the final exam. Access to the final exam will not be granted until your prior certification is approved by our team. You will be prompted to submit your prior certification upon enrollment.
We accept certifications up to 12 months after expiration. Base Medical accepts certification from other wilderness medicine organizations.
This recertification option does not include hands-on training. If you recertify online during this time, you will be required to take a recertification course with hands-on training the next time.

"I have to admit I was dubious of the online format, but I appreciate the care and effort that went into creating the WFR recert. This really helped me when I was in a pinch between geographic location and timing for recertification."
"This course gave me much more detail than previous trainings. I appreciated the videos accompaniments to the text, as hearing the material reinforced what was written. I do wish temperatures and measurements were given in non-metric terms, or both metric and non-metric terms. The supplemental materials were helpful." -Sandra R.
-Delany S.
"I enjoyed the course overall! Having access to a 100% online recert is amazing, and the information presented was clear and relevant. Thank you!"
"I was really worried because in my area there is nowhere I can go to get a Recertification. The closest locations are normally a day’s drive away and I didn't have the time for that. So I searched for anything else that I could find to do my re-certification and found Base Medical. I wasn't sure at first, but it was about my only option and I needed it done. The course material was very well done, the testing did an amazing job of reminding you of what was important, and I could go at my own pace. I think they went over some of the material better than the hands-on courses I have taken at times. Thank you so much for creating this for those like me who don't have the option of doing hands-on training. " -Erin Q.
