Registration Guide

Feel free to reach out to Course Admin for additional assistance if needed at

  • Every course offered must be registered with Base Medical. When you register a course, Course Admin will review that it meets our standards (such as instructors to student ratio, etc) and create a Custom Course Link (CCL) to group students into the appropriate tracking group. The CCL is the link you will share with students to enroll in the online lessons. You will have access to the tracking group created for your course.

  • Great! To offer multiple course levels over the same dates, please register each course level as a separate course. A Custom Course Link (CCL) and tracking group will be created for each course level.

  • Smart. This is a great way to maintain our 10:1 student to instructor ratio.

Please register a separate course for each date. For example, you have 20 students that want WFA. So you are going to teach 10 on Saturday and 10 on Sunday. Register a WFA course of each day.

  • Team work makes the dream work!

You can use the instructor directory to find potential instructors to bring on to your course. Be sure to discuss terms of payment vs. volunteering, expenses covered, etc.

You can also reach out to the Base Medical team for assistance finding another instructor.

  • The current customization options when you register a course:

    1) Lay Community Course: Just as it sounds! Select this option if you plan to run just a wilderness medicine course without any specialized training or certifications.

    2) SAR- This option is designed for Search and Rescue teams. Instructors should plan to specialize their training with a SAR specific schedule and lessons.

    CPR:

American Red Cross Adult CPR, AED, & First Aid: This customization is for instructors teaching the American Red Cross First Aid/CPR/AED curriculum. It is meant for the average lay-responder and student’s will complete Red Cross blended learning modules alongside Base Medical online curriculum before practical training.

Wilderness CPR is meant for SAR responders and outdoor professionals such as guides and park service. It comes with American Red Cross Basic Life Support as well as wilderness specific information for CPR.

Course Admin prioritizes course registrations and will confirm your course registration via email in 1-2 business days. Course Admin works Monday through Thursday.
